We thought we’d be able to move back home on February 18. Unfortunately, last night our builder informed us that he needs until March 1 to get the upstairs bedrooms ready. Instead of staying here past February 18 at a very high rate we’re going to go live with my mom for one week (Eric and the girls are on vacation) and then stay in a suites hotel for a week. ARRGGGGHHHH.
And in the middle of all this we’re having Laini’s 7th birthday on Feburary 23. Not at the house, of course.

I just finished my revision of Eric’s website. It uses more CSS than I have ever used before.

It’s been one complete week in our home away from home. Special thanks to our neighbor, whoever and wherever you are, who has that wireless base station connected to DSL and no WEP. It has helped keep me sane.
The condo has been very comfortable and the girls are enjoying the space. They’re not thrilled that the TV only gets broadcast basic cable so no Nickelodeon but I think they’ll survive.
On the homefront, the bathrooms on the main floor are gone. Just walls now. One bathroom will be remodeled while the other will be gutted completely (since it will no longer be attached to a bedroom). While we’re not living there and he’s waiting for inspections before going forward upstairs, Mike decided to get a jump on demolishing the downstairs area. That’s fine with me, it just means that the house has to be ready for us to move back on or before February 18th.
It’s expected to get into the low 30s today. Oh, a heat wave!
so how cold is it?

After I got off work this morning I went back to the house with my laptop to get some work done. I wanted to be at the house instead of the apartment so I’d have access to both computers. Anyway, even with the space heater in the den on it was so cold in the house that the trackpad on my iBook kept locking up. I was worried that there was something was wrong with the machine. However, as soon as I got it back here to the apartment, it’s working perfectly. ::phew:: I checked the iBook discussion pages at Apple and sure enough cold is a factor in this particular problem.
Good news is that the electrical inspections were done today so we’re one step closer to get the 2nd floor done and insulated.
yet another test

I’m trying Kung-Log, a new OS X only application for posting to Movable Type weblogs. I use NetNewsWire Pro from my laptop but I’m looking for something better than the web interface for my G4. Let’s see if this it.
