I just upgraded to Movable Type version 2.6.4, mostly to try out Transmit 2.5. Yes, it’s faster. Hopefully everything went well with the MT upgrade too.

I got larger space, seemed only fair that our goldfish: Dorothy (18 months old…and easily 5x the size she was when we got her), Belle, Samantha and Midnight got bigger digs too. I had a 2 gallon acrylic aquarium which I just replaced with a 6 gallon version. I decided to stick with the same brand of filter so the fish wouldn’t be shocked by the change. I just moved the bio-filter wheel from one tank to the other, since the old one got them this far in life and had built up the necessary healthy bacteria. So far, they are incredibly content. Midnight is swimming back and forth, nice and relaxed. Dorothy seems hungry. Again. And they’re not bumping into each other anymore.
Goldfish are underrated.
I thought so

I took the Geek test, and with a score of 23.66864% I am officially a geek. It will be interesting to see how Eric scores. ![]()

Even though there’s still construction work to be done (the tiling of the downstairs hallway and some work in the downstairs bathroom), today I feel like this is a home.
Today, I:
# put up some pictures
# went through the house with Goo Gone, a miracle product that removes those annoying stickers from new windows and toilets. If you have any stickers to remove from glass, you have to get this stuff. It comes in a bottle or a spray gel. I prefer the gel. A quick spray, wait about 15 minutes and then the sticker comes right off with a straight edge razor with no scraping. It’s orange-based so it’s safe and non-corrosive. Smells okay, too.
# Unpacked the last box! There’s still some stuff in my office that will end up in the living room and front hall closet (that’s not done yet either) but everything that could go to a home is now there. The girls have a lot of toys. I think Laini has at least 15 Barbie dolls and I don’t even want to count how many small toy animals Emily has. But all their stuff is neat and organized in their closets. I’m finding that my Mother was right, it is *much* easier to have a clean house, even one that’s this size, if you work on it a little bit everyday. ![]()
Now what I really need to do is concentrate on decorating, as much as the budget will allow.
such a deal!

I was getting frustrated that I couldn’t find new bedding without spending a fortune. I fell in love with a comforter set in Bed, Bath & Beyond but it would have been over $300! Today, Eric, the girls and I schlepped to the Westbrook Outlet Mall about an hour away. It was worth the trip. They have a Wamsutta outlet store where we got bedding for both girls (bedskirt, comforter, sheet set including shams) and for our bed for a grand total of about $150! Really nice stuff that looks great in the rooms.
