Even though there’s still construction work to be done (the tiling of the downstairs hallway and some work in the downstairs bathroom), today I feel like this is a home.
Today, I:
# put up some pictures
# went through the house with Goo Gone, a miracle product that removes those annoying stickers from new windows and toilets. If you have any stickers to remove from glass, you have to get this stuff. It comes in a bottle or a spray gel. I prefer the gel. A quick spray, wait about 15 minutes and then the sticker comes right off with a straight edge razor with no scraping. It’s orange-based so it’s safe and non-corrosive. Smells okay, too.
# Unpacked the last box! There’s still some stuff in my office that will end up in the living room and front hall closet (that’s not done yet either) but everything that could go to a home is now there. The girls have a lot of toys. I think Laini has at least 15 Barbie dolls and I don’t even want to count how many small toy animals Emily has. But all their stuff is neat and organized in their closets. I’m finding that my Mother was right, it is *much* easier to have a clean house, even one that’s this size, if you work on it a little bit everyday. ![]()
Now what I really need to do is concentrate on decorating, as much as the budget will allow.
