Panther now has iDisk file syncing and with a .Mac account, it lives up to its promise. 100 mb is not a lot of file space to really back up files but it’s more than enough space for my URL Manager Pro bookmark file, Web Confidential passwords file and Thoth usenet settings folder. I’ve made aliases of these files to my Documents folder where the applications expect to find them. Since the files are physically on my drive, there’s no speed issue (the iDisk itself is still dog slow). Now I can simply sync my iBook to these files once I upgrade it to Panther (tonight, now that Palm syncing is working) and I’ll have seamless integration between the two computers, even when one is not connected to the Internet (it syncs back up at next connection). Goodie!
