on my G5 as I type this on the iBook. We just got back from the Apple Store in West Nyack, NY. We got to the store at about 7:35 pm, and there were maybe 30 people on line in front of us. I chatted with Dennis Sellers from MacCentral for a few minutes, but as he has quoted me twice before he didn’t bother writing down anything I said and I didn’t want him to. We got into the store quickly, and while it was more crowded than a regular shopping day it wasn’t mobbed. By 8:30 pm everyone on line was in the store. We bought the Panther family pack as I will definitely be installing it on the kid’s iMac. Fast User Switching (even without the neat cube effect which requires Quartz Extreme) will be worth it alone so the kids won’t fight over who gets to set the desktop. We also took advantage of Apple’s 10% off deal to buy AppleCare for my G5 and Eric’s PowerBook. We were going to buy it anyway within 11 months, might as well do it when we can save some money.
2 minutes left in the install. I can’t believe how fast this went…exactly 30 minutes from start to finish (archive/install). Next entry should be from Panther.
