It hit the MLS today, and so far a few realtors have come by to take a look. The lock box is on the door, but we don’t have the lawn sign yet. I’ve never sold a home before and it’s nerve wracking! I thought it was just about keeping it clean, but it’s more than that. I can take anyone criticizing my work. I can even take personal criticism as a learning experience. But total strangers walking through, looking in my closets and judging my home has been harder than I expected. This house was specifically designed for us, I won’t allow my brain to go to the thought of someone else sitting in this room and calling it home. Not yet.

Since I work from home, I’ll be here for a lot of the showings so I know I have to get used to this feeling. I’ve just been sitting here in my office, smiling when they get to this room and pretending like I’m not here, trying not to listen to the commentary. The realtor open house is on Tuesday and I have no plans to be here. I’ll take my iBook and work from the local Starbucks. The first public open house is scheduled for Sunday, February 13th (not doing it on Super Bowl Sunday, of course). We’re going to spend the day in New Jersey.
