Spellbound development version keyboard change

For those of you who are using the wonderful Spellbound development version to have check-as-you-go spellchecking in Firefox, like me you may have missed an important feature change in the latest version.

From the Mozillazine.com posting:

To display the spell as you type spelling suggestions ctrl+left-click on the misspelled word. I used left-click (along with the ctrl key) due to issues where right clicking a new location not placing the caret in the proper place which required a left click then a right click to display the popup.

Previous versions required you to just click on the misspelled word to display the spelling options. When that stopped working, I thought my installation was broken. Firefox 1.5 has a very good auto-update feature for extensions so I didn’t realize I was using a new version.

Sure enough, control+left-click does the trick. Unfortunately the inline spell checker doesn’t appear to work in the Mac OS X version.

Hi Judy:

I’ve enjoyed using Spellbound for quite a while until I updated Firefox to version 1.5.1.0. Then the extension stopped working.

Omar,

I’m using Firefox 1.5.0.1 and the development version of Spellbound is working just fine (version 0.9.8.20060108).

Judy:

Where did you get Spellbound version 0.9.8.20060108? The latest version I can get is 0.7.3 in the extension box updater. Can you give me the link to download that latest version?

Thanks for your prompt response,

Omar.-

Omar, It’s the DEVELOPMENT version. Not the one that’s available from the regular plug-in page. Follow the Mozillazine link that I have in the entry. There’s a link to install in the message there.

Thanks Judi. Your post about development version of spellbound worked perfectly for me. I had the same problem as Omar. Thanks a lot.
